The most spectacular stars can be seen on a clear night at the Rocky Bottom. This is particularly true at 3am on a crisp July morning. In order to beat the heat for the welfare of our cattle, we gather the horses, eat breakfast, pack up camp and are in the saddle before the rooster crows. We are tired and dusty, but our cattle are happy and you sure can’t wish for a better view.
I love this photo because the longer exposure created a swirl in the stars that reminds me of Mr. Vincent Van Gogh.
